Hey, bold leaders. It is my absolute favorite week of the year, the week between Christmas and New Year’s where you have no idea what day it is or what planet you’re on. Right this very minute, as you’re listening to this, I’m curled up on my favorite chair with the softest coziest blanket and a London Fog, doing the most important work I do all year. I’m reflecting on 2020, all 1,011 days of 2020. This is important work as you prepare for any plans you put into place for 2021. Each year at this time, we roll out our five day journaling for vision, clarity, and abundance training, where you get to take stock of the key areas in your life. Each day this week, I’m going to walk you through each of the days in this training. The components in this assessment are more life oriented and the reason we do this is to ensure that we build a business around your life, and not the other way around.
Too often, I see business owners overworking and sacrificing what truly brings them fulfillment and joy. Setting some life goals like upgrades to your home, or vacations with friends go a long way in determining why you want to profit in your business this year. It gives you a purpose for your profit. The leaders who have gone through this training have received amazing results that they would have paid good money for, and we are giving it to you for free. One person even told me that this training was worth a million dollars. Katie, who has done this training, said “A huge thank you to Tara. This is the first five day challenge I have ever completed, and you’ve changed my mindset on journaling. It’s been invaluable to kickstart me back into connecting with my next chapter. I’m loving how I’ll be showing up in the world.”
Maybe you’re feeling like you’re faced with a million different decisions, or choices, or possibilities, and the decision fatigue is real. Second guessing yourself can really keep you frozen. Maybe you feel like you have so many goals with so little time to focus. This is how Patrick felt until he did our five day challenge.
“I can’t thank Tara enough for setting me straight on what I should be focused on and more importantly, why I should be focused on it. Do yourself a solid and get over to her training and learn how to get focused, gain perspective on what it is you really want for your personal and business blueprint. I’ve already moved forward more than I have in a very long time.” Thank you, Patrick. Thank you. I appreciate that. And I’m so happy that you and Katie have had the results that you’ve had through this five day challenge. So many reluctant journalers have let me know this has helped them get the habits started. So grab a cup of coffee or your London Fog, and join me each day this week to journal for clarity, abundance, and vision.

Hey, hey. Welcome to day three of the Journaling for Vision, Clarity and Abundance training. Today I want to talk to you about your reasons or your why. Why is the focus area you chose yesterday so important to you? And I know it is because I forced you to make a choice. I didn’t let you choose three things. I said you could only choose one thing. So when you narrow your focus in that way, I know how important that focus is going to be. So today we’re talking about your reasons and your why and again, feel free, take out your journal. This is about creating that daily habit of opening your journal for 20 minutes a day.
So it’s not good enough to scratch the surface here. We need to spend some time digging around and knowing why something is important to you. Why is it so important, helps you stay focused when life gets noisy and distracting and in the way or like I like to say when life starts lifeing we need to know why we are doing something. We need to know all the reasons why you’re committed to this particular focus because it will keep you in the commitment when you’re tired or feeling pulled in too many different directions.
My best example of this is around my health and fitness. For those of you who don’t know this, I’m an avid CrossFit athlete. In March of 2017, I was finally well enough after years of battling adrenal fatigue to start working out again. I took my first CrossFit class and quickly declared CrossFit a homecoming for my body, my mind, and my soul. And since then I’ve been committed to being the most fittest version of myself and I’ve wildly transformed my body, my mind, and my strength.
And if you follow me on Instagram stories, you will frequently see me posting about my workouts. People reach out all the time saying what keeps you committed? And how do you keep so consistent? You’re so lucky that this is something you enjoy. But you want to know the truth? Most days I want to stay in bed. I don’t want to wake up at 5:00 AM to get to my usual 6:00 AM class. Lots of days I’m sore or tired or just don’t want to do it. And I can come up with plenty of excuses to skip out on workouts. And what saves me every time is my longterm focus and the reasons for this focus. So why is this area of focus so important to you? How will this focus change everything else in your life?
When I started CrossFit, it changed everything. No corner of my life was left untouched. How I parent, my relationship with my partner, my business goals, it had a huge domino effect in my life. So what will your domino effect look like? What are all the things that change for the best, when you focus on this one area? That is your journaling assignment for today. List your why and your reasons. And you can write this out in story form and just keep writing in paragraphs. You can jot words down, you can have phrases. This doesn’t have to be a whole narrative. You can make this easy. You can let this be easy. And I’m so excited for you because you are through day three. So hit reply and let me know how the training is going so far. Are you flying high or are you feeling stuck? Let me send you some words of encouragement.
